AMQA Members Challenge 2011
AMQA held a members only challenge in 2011. The Members Challenge is held the year between the AMQA Quilt Show. All members of AMQA were invited to participate in the challenge, free of charge. AMQA sponsored a total prize pool of $1200 and a ribbon for each category placegetter.
The Challenge Quilts were judged in June, 2011 by well known quilt and fabric designer and author, Michelle Marvig.
There were two main categories in the 2011 AMQA Members Challenge, consisting of a set pieced design and a wholecloth quilt. Each category had a section for hand guided quilting and also for computerised quilting. The defining criteria between the two being if any part of the quilting was completed with the assistance of a computerised system, then the quilt must be entered in the computerised quilting category.
